YOU CAN'T GO ON, YOU GO ON: Our interview with alternative trio, Last Of The Light Brigade!

Part 1 - "THE INTERVIEW"

1 - What was your earliest musical memory and what inspired you towards persuing a career in music?

"Attempting to sing along to 'What Became of the Broken Hearted' in a car. Probably about three. Still love that song. My dad bought me my first guitar for my 13th birthday and I listened to 'What's the Story Morning Glory?' for the first time. That's where it all began."

2 - Had you been involved with any other bands prior to Last Of The Light Brigade?

"Not really, in some form it's always been LOTLB. Don't think I could ever be in another band to be honest, that's probably why our stuff seems quite diverse, just however I'm feeling!"

3 - How did Last Of The Light Brigade begin?

"Well it all began at School just under a different moniker. We played out first gig at fourteen."

4 - Where did the name Last Of The Light Brigade come from?

"A very late night discussion with two good friends of mine. We were talking about how romanticised The Charge of the Light Brigade has become. Typical British really. it just clicked."

5 - How would you describe the sound of Last Of The Light Brigade?

"That's quite tough as it can vary. I'd be more than happy for anybody to help me out on that one!"

6 - You're a fairly young band right now but have already had acclaim from the likes of Janice Long and Wilko Johnson. How does this feel and did this acclaim have a boost in your career?

"Yeah definitely, supporting Wilko was great. One of our best gigs I think. It's great to be able to say we were the last band ever to support him too… (I think)."

7 - Your latest single, 'You Can't Go On, You Go On', was out just last month. What is this song about and what influenced the song?

"It's about a young lady struggling to adapt to working life. with a twist obviously. Very Morrissey I suppose."

8 - Who would be your dream collaboration?

"Shirley Bassey."

9 - Any new songs in the pipeline?

"Tons!"

10 - When can fans be expecting a new single, EP or album?

"We will be releasing new material at the end of the year, hopefully Christmas time. Don't worry though it won't be a Christmas song!"

11 - Any live dates coming up?

"Yep, we got a ton coming actually which you can find out about on our website or facebook page. Really looking forward to it.
